I run a support group for women and many times I'm asked about how the coronavirus impacts LS. So I would like to ask you. Does having an overactive/misfiring immune system or Lichen sclerosus put us at a greater risk if we caught the coronavirus?

Thank you for your query. In LS the immune system is over-active (rather than under-active) in a very specific way. By this I mean that it is interested in the part of our skin where the top layer - the epidermis meets the lower layer - the dermis. LS does not have the ability to upset any other aspect of our immune system or stop it working efficiently to fight off viruses such as Covid.
