Ingrown hairs happen when a hair develops under the skin or twists around and develops straightforwardly into the hair follicle. Ingrown hairs regularly foster in regions subject to shaving or waxing, like the face, legs, pubic district, and, some of the time, the penile shaft. Ingrown hairs are most normal in individuals with wavy hair.

Waxing such a sensitive area can definitely cause irritation, especially if it’s your first time. The red dots you’re seeing are likely from inflammation around the hair follicles, known as folliculitis. It’s common after waxing, as the hair is being pulled out from the root, which can irritate the skin.
To help soothe the irritation, you can try using a gentle, fragrance-free lotion or aloe vera gel, which can calm the skin and reduce redness. Over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream might also help minimize the inflammation, but use it sparingly, especially in such a sensitive area. Keeping the area clean with mild soap and allowing it to air out can help prevent further irritation. It’s best to avoid tight clothing that can rub against the area or further waxing until the irritation subsides.
