Dear John,
Many thanks for your question. There is ongoing research into vitiligo and potential new treatments. Unfortunately, however, it can take many years from showing a treatment works in the lab and this being translated into readily available medical treatments.
You mentioned that vitiligo is embarrassing and I hope you are aware of The Vitiligo Society and Changing Faces. Both are fantastic organisations of support; Changing Faces are also able to help with camouflage cover which may be of interest.
