Dr Catherine O’Leary
Dr Catherine O’Leary is a consultant clinical psychologist who has worked for many years in medical settings in the NHS, including cleft lip and palate, renal and respiratory services.
Catherine lives and works in South Wales and leads the psychology service at the All Wales Adult Cystic Fibrosis Service. She received her PhD from the University of London and then went on to train as a clinical psychologist at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London. She is trained in several therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). She is passionate about supporting people and their families to live well with physical health conditions.
Catherine has lived with psoriasis since childhood and has recently written ‘Coping With Psoriasis’ (Sequoia Books) in which she shares her struggles with psoriasis and the psychological strategies that have helped her cope.
