Dr Jamal Hayat is currently a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at St. George’s University Hospitals NHS Trust. He qualified from Imperial College School of Medicine and completed his specialist training in London. He undertook an MD research degree into the pathophysiology and use of advanced diagnostic techniques in gastrointestinal disease. He runs the GI physiology lab at St George's and performs both diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy. He has expertise in diagnosing and treating patients with conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, acid and reflux related disorders and coeliac disease.
