Janey Readman
I trained as a Children’s Nurse at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh and then became a midwife following my training at the Simpson Memorial Maternity Pavilion in Edinburgh and have worked in various Neonatal and Special care baby units around the country for many years.
I became a Community Children’s Nurse in 1998 in the Swindon area. Following a move to Suffolk I had a patient on my caseload with severe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I became very interested in the case as I had not nursed a case before. I studied for a Diploma in Community practice and used Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as my case study.
I joined Cambridge Community Services in 2005 as the lead nurse in the newly formed Chronic Fatigue team led by Dr Vickers following the Government’s investment in services. We have a current caseload of 100 young people in Cambridgeshire.
I was nominated to take part in the CFS, ME & Fibromyalgia Clinic by the Association of Young People with ME (AYME)
