June Rogers MBE
June is a qualified continence advisor and stoma care nurse with over 25 years experience working with individuals with continence/bladder/bowel problems including those with both physical and learning disabilities.
June has a strong interest in paediatric continence problems and was responsible for the development of one of the first nurse led paediatric continence services in the country. In 2004 she began working part-time outside the NHS, leaving completely in 2005 and is now employed as Team Director of PromoCon, Disabled Living NW. June is responsible for team of 3 people within busy department, (working under the umbrella of Disabled Living). This is a national post with wide ranging responsibilities including, providing professional advice and support via helpline and web site, research, training, and producing information/advice literature re children and adults with bladder/bowel problems.
Working at a national level June has also been involved with a number of working parties with the Department of Health including ‘Good Practice in Continence Services’ as well as sitting on a number of NICE Guideline Development and Technology Appraisal groups. June was also involved as an external Expert Advisor for the continence section of the ‘Any Qualified Provider’ initiative within the Department of Health and has worked with a number of commissioners regarding the commissioning of paediatric continence services. June was awarded an MBE in 1998 for her work in the field of continence.
