Mr Ased Ali
Mr Ased Ali is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals specialising in cystitis, urinary and biofilm infection, incontinence, pelvic floor weakness and urinary symptoms due to bladder problems or neurological conditions.
He qualified from The University of Manchester, with subsequent surgical training in the Northwest of England and Higher Urological training in Yorkshire and Northeast of England. He undertook part of his sub-specialty training in Female Urology and Urogynaecology at Duke University, North Carolina, USA as well as The Centre for Pelvic Floor at The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He completed a Royal College of Surgeons approved fellowship in Female Urology and Reconstructive Surgery at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Mr Ali trained as both a surgeon and as a scientist gaining a PhD in Immunology. He has a strong academic interest and has received national funding awards from multiple bodies including the Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust, National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and Wellbeing of Women. He is also a part of the Medical Advisory Panel for Bladder Health UK, the largest UK charity for bladder problems and serves as President of the Yorkshire and Humberside Urostomy Association.
Mr Ali is a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSEng) and member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), European Association of Urology (EAU) and American Urological Association (AUA).
