Pieter Meiring
Pieter holds a BSc (honours) degree in Herbal Medicine form Westminster University. He runs a practice from Watford and teaches on the Heartwood Herbal Medicine course. Pieter has won awards for achievement and innovation in herbal medicine and botanical pharmacy and has featured in a number of publications promoting herbal medicine and growing medicinal plants. When he’s not practising or teaching, you are likely to find him in his garden or making medicines.
He has a keen interest on the role that herbal medicines can play in helping with men’s health issue and acknowledges that as men are different and have different physiological needs to women, they need to be treated accordingly. He deals with a range of issues relating to the dysfunction of the male reproductive structures, inducing BPH, prostatitis, libido and erectile dysfunction, hormonal imbalance, andropause, the impact of stress on male health and the side-effects of other medications.
Recognising the close relationship and interactions between the reproductive, nervous and immune systems, Pieter will always consider his treatment plan within a holistic framework, considering an integrated approach of using nervines, tonics and hormone balancing herbs alongside diet and lifestyle advice and conventional treatment protocols.
