TH+ Expert Webinar with Dr George Moncrieff: Atopic eczema - the truth about topical steroids

We had the pleasure of welcoming Dr George Moncrieff to our webinar series. With over 35 years of focusing on dermatology, his knowledge of skin and steroids combatted our confusion.

The webinar covered all bases, from why eczema occurs to immune modulator treatments and George's insights into how of topical steroids can be misused. If you or someone you know lives with eczema, this is a must-see!

In an hour-long eczema exclusive, Dr George Moncrieff explains all things skin in an easy and accessible way. As well as explaining the simple stuff - like flare-ups and allergies - George made sense of the heated topical steroids debate with evidence-based information.

The Clinical Lead for a Community Dermatology Service highlighted that although he fully supports the correct use of steroids for the treatment of short-term eczema, he believes that healthcare professionals have become 'blinkered' to new and more effective long-term treatments.

As Dr Moncrieff explains at the beginning of the webinar, these are his personal thoughts that are based on independent findings and research. At talkhealth, we are aware of the challenges facing eczema patients seeking treatment and advocate for the correct use of atopical steroids when they are prescriped by a healthcare professional. If you need extra support managing your eczema, our talkeczema hub is full of useful resources.
