Re: Vitiligo and peri menopause
Hi there, Sorry to hear your vitiligo is more active. It’s difficult to know why the skin’s immune system suddenly shifts - there are so many influences on it and hormones may well be one of these factors. I advise you see your Doctor to talk about potential treatments such as creams or light therap...

Re: Highly sensitive skin
Sorry to hear you are struggling. It sounds like there has been a shift in your skin. It’s difficult to know exactly what might be happening within the skin, but I think it would be important for you to have another Dermatology consultation to work out exactly why your skin is behaving like this. I’...

Re: Moles - should they get checked?
Sounds like you have had a significant amount of sun exposure, so it would be a good idea to get them checked. All consultant dermatologists will be able to check your moles, so you can search for one local to you. Or alternatively, see if your GP can help. Good luck!

Re: Necrobiosis
Sorry to hear you are struggling with this. It’s difficult to know from the photo how active the condition is. Unfortunately, even previous changes of necrobiosis can leave the skin permanently thinner with some redness. I think it’s worth Seeing your Dermatologist again to discuss potential options...

Sorry to hear this.
I suggest you go and see your Doctor. More recently, we have been using tablets for melasma, which might be an option for you.
Good luck!

Re: Seborrheic Keratosis
HI there, Sorry to hear you've really suffered with your skin over the years. With regards to seborrheic keratoses, these are benign, warty growths that we often accumulate over time. Unfortunately, these don't tend to be treated in standard NHS clinics, because luckily they are not harmful. However...

Re: Is my body itching aggravated by materials other than cotton?
Hi Nancy, So sorry to hear you are suffering. We see itch commonly in the clinic and I know how distressing and uncomfortable it can be. From your mention of Xolair, I assume you have had blood tests to ensure that there is nothing internally which is causing the itching. If not, chat to your doctor...

Re: deep purple spots on my arms and legs
HI Diana, Sorry to hear you are experiencing this. It's difficult to know exactly what's causing this, but it sounds a bit like purpura, which is essentially easy bruising. I suggest you make an appointment to discuss with your GP - they could confirm the diagnosis and if it is purpura, they may che...

Re: Erythrokeratodermia Variabilis
Hi there, Have you tried something with urea in it? Some of the skincare companies do an intensive 10% urea containing moisturiser. The other option might be some of the more cosmetic preparations (but unfragranced) which are made for bumpy skin on the back of the arm (keratosis pilaris). These cont...

Re: Psoriasis under nails
So sorry to hear you are having a rough time. It sounds like you may have a number of reasons for your nails to be problematic - potential psoriasis and the Raynauds could both contribute. I suggest you ask your Rheumatologist if they could get a Dermatology opinion and see if there might be a treat...
