Re: Wrinkly Skin / collagen
Dear Sylvia, Skin changes in terms of quality and firmness are frustrating and relate to a number of causes including genetics, lifestyle and medical conditions including those needing steroids. There is little evidence for the use of collagen supplements and depending on the degree of sagginess, yo...

Re: Massons haemangioma/intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia
Dear R,
I would recommend discussing a specialist referral to your local dermatology or vascular team with your GP, so that you can be guided regarding the range of options including lasers.

Re: White patches under eyes
Dear Angela,
I would recommend discussing this with your GP in the first place. There are a number of reasons why this may happen including the presence of cholesterol under the skin. Clinical examination will guide a discussion around treatment options.
Best wishes

Re: Loose skin after breast cancer
Dear Sharon,
I would recommend you look into having a breast uplift, since this is a common concern among women with a history of breast issues. Your starting point is to discuss your concerns at the next follow up with the breast surgery team.

Re: Knee replacement surgery
Dear Christina, The scar will continue to remodel (hopefully improve) for another 6 months. Moisturisation is important and an aloe vera based product should be a good start. If you wish to further improve certain features of the scar, there are a number of modalities to consider including scar mass...

Re: Major burns to head
Dear Jane, This is a common challenge following burns and if the injury was a long time ago (more than 10-15 years) I would recommend that a doctor assesses these scaly areas to make sure it is just dry skin. If this is the case an aloe vera based moisturiser applied regularly should help your sympt...

Re: Old Scar
Dear Sally, It sounds like the scar has an element of tethering, i.s it is stuck to the deeper layers under the skin. In general terms this may be amenable to scar physical therapy (delivered by a scar physiotherapist) or a procedure called subcision. This involves using needle under anaesthetic to ...

Re: Mole On Belly
Dear Jessica,
I would totally agree with Adil,
The mole needs to be examined by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon to ascertain the best way ahead both in terms of complete removal and laboratory examination as well as leaving behind the best quality scar possible.
