Long period on the mini pill- will it get better???
Do super long periods from the progesterone only pill eventually settle down after a couple of months??
I’ve been taking the pill for nearly a month now, and after having come on my period as usual, I am now on day 11 with no signs of stopping- it is just as heavy now as at the start, although luckily not as heavy as without the pill. The blood is red so it’s not old, and while I know that it is a known side effect to have irregular bleeding, I was wondering whether anyone knows if it’s common for this to go back to normal eventually? If this is going to continue, I’d rather change to a different type of pill so I’m not constantly bleeding! Thanks

Many people do experience irregular bleeding when starting it, and for some, it can take a few months for things to settle down. That said, if it doesn’t improve soon or if it’s really bothering you, it might be worth discussing with your doctor about switching to a different method.
