If your biopsy has shown CIN2, there is a moderate chance the cells will become cancerous if left untreated- Therefore it is very important to treat this properly. Treatment options include the following:
1)Large loop excision of the transformation zone (LLETZ) which uses a thin wire loop with an electrical current to remove the area of the cervix where there are cell changes.
2) Cone biopsy: this is a minor operation to cut out a cone-shaped piece of tissue containing the abnormal cells. This procedure is only performed if a large area of tissue needs to be removed.
Other treatment options include laser treatment or cryotherapy.
Understandably, this must be very worrying for you but please remember that treatment for cell changes like CIN2 are usually successful (9 out of 10 people will never have these cell changes again).
