Adult Acne
Are the triggers/causes of adult acne the same as those for teenage acne?
Is there any significance about the location of acne? (I've started having breakouts near my temple?)
Thanks

Re: Adult Acne
Thankyou for your question.
The causes of acne are as follows:
Genetics
Diet - some studies show a link
Stress -most likely a trigger for a breakout
Hormones
Medications- such as steroids
These causes often remain the same for both adult and teenage acne. However in adults you would need to consider hormonal causes related to polycystic ovaries in women.
In my clinical practice I often find that acne that occurs along the jaw line and chin seems to be more hormonal. Acne can affect any part of the body that contains comedones.
