Treating scarring from old spots

I have some scarring from old spots - what’s the best way to treat this without causing more breakouts (e.g. from extra oils). Any advice would be appreciated, thank you Beccy

Re: Treating scarring from old spots

Hi Beccy,
Thanks for your question. Unfortunately scarring from acne is common. There are several different types of scarring due to acne eg. discoloration, 'ice-pick' or 'rolling scars' and knowing which type of scarring you have will help to guide any treatment. Further information on the different types of scarring and appropriate treatment is available here:

Re: Treating scarring from old spots

Hello

As suggested, it's important to classify the type of scars correctly and location of scars before considering treatment options. Lasers, surgical scar removal and subcision etc. all may help the right kind of scars. Scars on face do better than those on the body.
