A non steroid product recommendation
What product can I use that doesn't contain steroid but will stop me feeling itchy?

Re: A non steroid product recommendation
Dear Imaiqah
Thank you for your question.
Topical emollients particularly in eczema of course should be your mainstay to reduce dryness of the skin which will help with itching and reduce the need to apply steroids. There is no real evidence to suggest that one mioisturiser is better than another. Choose one that you like and will use regularly.
Also always use a soap substitute and avoid fragranced products.
As for prescriptions based treatments, immunomodulators of the skin such as Tacrolimus cream/ointment or Pimecrolimus cream will help with itching. These are not steroids and are safe to use on sensitive areas such as the face and around the eyes.
Oral antihistamines such as Cetrizine or Loratidine may also help with the itching.
I hope this help.
