Association between steroid use and chronic thrush in Lichen Sclerosis
Association between steroid use and chronic thrush in Lichen Sclerosis
Use of clobetasol propionate is the recommended therapy for LS, but regular use is reported as associated with chronic thrush. Chronic thrush in this case can be resistant to normal therapies such as fluconazole. Yet thrush irritates the already sore skin creating chronic discomfort that can be difficult to be tolerate. How can these two factors be balanced to enable management of LS progression, but also relief from pain caused by infection. Are there ways to promote healthy vaginal and vulval skin microbiota?

Hello
Yes this is correct. Ask your dermatologist if you can be treated with acitretin or roacutane.
I hope this is helpful.
kind regards
