Medication for BPH
Medication for BPH
I had a TURPS about 20 years ago. Things were good for many years until I suddenly started to experience episodes of significant bleeding during urination. These usually followed sexual activity. After investigation, I was put onto Finasteride and this has been effective in stopping the bleeding. However, the downside has been a negative effect on erection strength. Would it be safe to try discontinuing the medication and what would be the likely outcomes?

Thank you, stopping this may improve your libido but also blood in the urine can return.
It is important that you have had a full urinary tract assessment for blood in the urine, by a Urologist. This is paramount, before any definitive advice on finasteride can be given at this point.
