Recurring but rare bouts of syncopy

Forgive the long post but I am a fit 70 male, every year or two I suddenly faint and am a bit flaky for a few days and then I'm back to normal for another year or more. This has been going on for 5 or 6 years and I've had lots and lots of tests. This morning I sat down and blacked out for a second or two, I awoke to hear my wife calling my name. I checked bp and glucose both normal. I will feel well for a few hours and get a recurrence, these sessions will last a few days and then I'll be back to normal. I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts they could share please ?

Re: Recurring but rare bouts of syncopy

Hi rogertbb,

Thank you for posting on the forum and hopefully other members who may have experienced similar symptoms, can help you understand what could be happening. You mention you have already had many tests but can you get a second opinion from a different GP who can further investigate.

There are many causes of fainting but please find some information below about vasovagal syncope which may help:

We hope you find the root cause soon.

Kind regards
