Re: i need advice!!!
I felt the same way you did - I've been suffering from eczema my whole life and I gave up with dermatologists because I noticed that the steroids made the outbreaks more aggressive. I really like my nutritionist/naturopath and she recommended me an herbal drink made especially for me and a diet without dairy, gluten or refined sugar. This has helped me and is easier than you think. I also know other triggers (nickel, laundry detergent, cats) after 28 years of dealing with it. Only recently have I learned of the great help that probiotics are (I take GR-8Dophilus by Now Foods) and have used these recently which have been a tremendous help when I don't eat like I should.
As annoying as it is to hear - you do have to deal with it - look around you and see what is new that made your eczema act up and test yourself. No doctor can tell you all of your triggers unless you are wealthy enough to afford someone shadow your every move!
I learned this the hard way but it has helped me cope and stop feeling like a victim. Its a struggle but if you're determined you'll figure it out. All the best xx

Re: i need advice!!!
thank you so much for your message.today i have started a dairy free diet to see how it goes.i also have had a reaction to the steroids.my skin has flarred up since taking the tablets.so i stopped last week.i really appreciate the replys i am getting.
Re: i need advice!!!
Be careful doing an exclusion diet without medical support. My duughter is allergic to dairy and still has eczema so it is not the big answer for everyone. On the TV the other night it said sheeps milk is better for eczema and skin conditions.

Please help
I can't find the button to post a new topic. I'm new here and I just wanna say that eczema sucks and really does ruin your life. I'm an acomplished kickboxer but I can't go to the lessons anymore because my hands are too cut and my skin on my face seems to have changed.
Does anyone know what this is? I had atopic all my life and I'm 30 now. My skin seems to weep and go yellow. If I use dry creams it gets infected and goes yellow again. However if I use an anticeptic shampoo on my skin and leave it dry then it stays ok for a day or two before it cracks and starts all over again. I can feel it getting bad after a day or two and it'll go red and weepy. The only way I can control it is through the shampoo and hydrocortosone cream which I hate using as it thins my skin. I've tried protopic and all it does is make me itch (really badly) it smells and is greasy and it's a pain in the sun or the shower (because of the heat)
So, I'm left with thin damaged skin and I'm at my wits end. My life really does suck at this point
Any advice guys? I even tried that special honey of the net to no avail.
I found this information: http://www.skincareworld.co.uk/librarys ... eczema.htm
This sounds like my skin. It says that repeated infections, weepy and yellow due to staphylococcus which everyone with atopic ezcema has can lead to flu like symptoms, tired all the time ect... which is just like me. Unfortunately unless someone has a cure I can't see this going away. I've had this for like five years now, I've been diagnoised with coeliac disease and told that I'm allergic to shellfish but avoiding gluten hasn't helped my skin and I still feel like shit.

Re: i need advice!!!
hey paramore
sorry to hear about your skin - sounds terrible - i know the pain that i go through when my eczema is infected. and thats what it sounds like. have you been on a course of antibiotics yet? because if this doesnt seem to clear it up i would suggest it is something other than eczema or maybe its something else adding to the problem - i remember as i kid i got impetigo on top of my eczema - that was agony!! anyway - i hope you find a result soon. till then you can know that there are people here who know how you feel. ph and btw, to start a new topic, go to the main message board page and click new topic at the top left of the page. x

Re: i need advice!!!
Thanks for the kind words. I think I'm gonna go back to my doctor (again) and ask his advice tomorrow. I had many courses of Antibiotics in the past, it clears up and then gets bad again within a day or two. Sorry to hear that your skin is bad too. If I get a breakthrough (not likely) I'll let you guys know.
Maybe someone can help me
I have had eczema for about 10 years or so now, however, just recently it has gotten really bad. It is so bad that it is on my armpits and burns!! I couldnt even wear tank tops or t-shirts in the summer : ( My armpits have gotten better since I have started putting hydrocortizone (which burned at first, but now that they are starting to heal its not as bad) on them everyday, but now my arms (especially the inside of my elbows) and my legs (the inside of my knees) are red, swollen and itchy. No matter what creams, oils, or lotions I use it BURNS! I mean to the point I am in tears. I have had many breakdowns in the past few months and I just dont know how much more I can take.
My question is if anyone knows of any good creams, oils, or lotions that are super sensitive and do not burn? I would use hydrocortizone all the time, but it comes in such a small tube that I would have to use one tube a day to cover my whole body, lol.
Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks!

hello,
have you put the creams in the fridge?
did you say what soaps you have tried on the body?
do you believe in antibiotics?
Hopefully, an 'experienced' person will reply soon!!!
GOOD LUCK

Have you tried the emollient ointment, Epaderm? It's very thick in the container but you can soften it in your hands before applying it. It's very greasy but soothing and moisturising. You can also use it instead of soap, and even add it to your bath water. I have it on prescription, and use it on my face and neck when I have a flare-up. It makes a big difference.
Re: i need advice!!!
hi , i have been reading your post and really feel for you. i would reccomend you try something called renew. i work with a company called melaleuca and its shown fantastic results . just search melaleuca on this site and other people are getting fantastic results. they do a huge house hold range as well which use the melaleuca oil as the base product, if you want me to send you a catologue to have a look then please let me know. i think that you would benefit from it not just with your skin but also the diet side. they also have a 60 day money back guarnatee so if you do not get the results you thought then you will get your money back no questions asked. regards shaun
