Re: Emotionally Draining

Thankyou I am trying hard to be patient and reading , reading , and reading more! . Just letting you know that we have tried the double base lately aswel we apply this half an hour after the eumovate . The dermatoligist said we will try the sun lamps again . My daughter prefers the dermol moisturiser as it dries in quicker .

We are going back to the doctors tomorrow as shes been away over the weekend with my sister and its flared up and is bleeding.

I told my sister to keep an eye on it but she has young children of her own to keep an eye on . It was doing ok (ezcema) until i let her go away it was a little break for her and she enjoyed it. Im stopping her from going swimming just incase this is irritating it - she has been 3 times in the last 3 week . Im upset for her as she was getting picked on at school.

KriMarie~
It breaks my heart to hear your pain. I had eczema for years and would have to go to school with my hands and arms wrapped in saran wrap and elastic bandages. f I did not wear them my hands would crack and bleed. You don't want to go to school, or out. And, cry a lot. And then even more than a lot. It wakes you at night. You are tired and cry more. The social impact is huge. Love, Tara

Re: Emotionally Draining

KriMarie,

Your post sounds eerily similar to my life. I'm also 23, had eczema forever and this past winter was the worst flare up I've had in my life. Were you able to see the doctor?

If you're still having face issues, I feel for you! A lot of times I get it on my cheeks and neck too! I've been able to keep it under control on my face and neck by using Japanese skin care (I'm Japanese). I don't think you necessarily need to use these products, but I definitely think the method helps! I use a slightly rough cotton cloth to gently exfoliate and get rid of all of the dry, flakey skin. I'm sure a normal wash cloth will work. Some days it will hurt like no other, but I think it works really well. Immediately after exfoliating, lotion up (which will often sting very badly). You what they say, pain is beauty.

Its amazing that I've been able to keep my face under control this way, I have eczema in varying degrees of severity literally everywhere (ankles, legs, stomach, back, arms, wrists/hands).

I really hope this helps!

Re: Emotionally Draining

Thank you everyone for the input, I was able to see a dermatologist! I had went to my primary physician in pain, and he was able to call a dermatologist he knows after putting me on steroids for two weeks. Though my eczema is still apparent in typical creases of knees, arms, and neck. It is now only mildly on my face, which makes me feel so much better! At the moment I am using "Topicort" as well as Cerave a over the counter cream (which my dermatologist recommended) and it works amazingly.

I think the weather has also helped out a little bit, I hear people say to stay out of the sun. Yet, sun actually helps me except if I sweat. My dermatologist recommended light treatment, which uses a certain type of UV rays. My doctor told me that these UV rays can also be found in the sunlight. Just of course remember not to stay out to long! and to wear some sunblock =)

If anyone ever needs someone just to vent to, feel free to message me. I understand how sometimes when venting to family and friends it becomes kind of repetitive or they may not completely understand. =)
