Re: Night Time Bedwetting
Hi Belle
Maybe you can give me a bit more information about what you have already done - DesmoMelt is an excellent product but needs to be given as part of a treatment programme. It may be that your son is already under the care of a School Health Nurse or other Health Care Professional who may have assessed him using the Nocturnal Enuresis NICE Guideline (NICE clinical guideline 111 - The management of bedwetting in children and young people).
Questions they may have asked include:
1. How often does your son have his bowels open? Is the stool soft or hard? Does he take any medicines for his bowels?
2. Does your son have any daytime bladder problems? How many times a day does he go for a wee? Does he have to rush to make it to the toilet? Does he ever get wet pants during the day?
3. How much does your son drink during the day? What sort of things does he drink? What time does he have his last drink of the day - and what time does he go to bed?
4. Is he wet every night? Just once or several times? How long after going to sleep? Is it a large wet patch or just damp pyjamas? Does he usually wake up after wetting or sleep through till morning?
You may have answered questions like these several times already....but I can't answer your question without knowing a bit more about what has happened already. So I look forward to hearing your responses!
