Squamus cell carcinoma in sinuses

Hi. I have read that "Squamous cell carcinomas" are on the skin and aren't hereditary but what about if my mother died from a squamous cell carcinoma in the sinus cavity?
I've started to worry about it because I often have problems with my sinuses.
