contact dermatitus

Occasionally when I'm stressed my hand are itchy and sore when I cut up tomatoes, potatoes etc which sometimes lead to dryness cracking of skin & bleeding. My doctor diagnosed skin allergy but I sue it is due to stress. What do you think?

Re: contact dermatitus

Thank you for your post.

If your GP has said it's a skin allergy, it probably is. Have you tried using any specific emollients to help with the cracking? Or wearing some latex of cotton gloves when preparing food such as tomatoes? Both could certainly help. That said, skin conditions can get worse if your are stressed.

Some useful information can be found here:

Also, we have an adult dry skin Patient Support Programme that's free to join. There's information with in that Programme that could help with your skin allergy.
