Skin Blemishes
I have a few small marks on my right arm which seem to go whiter if I am out in the sun & never tan like the rest of my skin. Is this perfectly normal & please could you tell me what would be the possible causes of the marks? Many thanks

Re: Skin Blemishes
Hi there!
To be honest the causes of pale marks on sun exposure can be many.
Possibilities could Pityriasis versicolor. This is a harmless yeast infection of the skin. Vitilgo- a condition where the cells that produce pigment in the skin become inactive and on sun exposure, can be more apparent. Most people are are aware of the skin going darker on sun exposure but you can infact develop white patches too - what we call guttate hypomelanosis.
I think the best thing would be for you to see your GP or a dermatologist who hopefully will clarify things for you.
All the best!
