Expert clinic on general skin conditions
talkhealth teamed up with The British Skin Foundation, The Psoriasis Association, The British Association of Skin Camouflage (BASC), Vitiligo Society and Skin Camouflage Services to offer an online expert clinic on general skin conditions.
Dr Nevianna Bordet, Professor Andrew Thompson, Dr Anton Alexandroff, Dr Emma Wedgeworth, Dr Sreedhar Krishna, Julie Van Olsen and Vanessa Jane Davies kindly joined us on Monday 6 September - Friday 17th September to give advice on all things related to general skin conditions.

The British Skin Foundation
The British Skin Foundation is the only UK charity dedicated to raising funds for skin disease and skin cancer research. This year the British Skin Foundation turns 20 years old, giving out more than £10 million in grants to over 300 research projects since 1996. As well as supporting research into diseases such as eczema, psoriasis and skin cancer, cases of which are unfortunately all too common; the BSF are also looking to find better treatments and eventual cures for conditions that may be less familiar such as vitiligo, ichthyosis and alopecia.

The Psoriasis Association
The Psoriasis Association is a well-established UK based charity with three aims:
- To raise awareness of psoriasis
- To provide information, advice and support to those whose lives are affected by psoriasis
- To promote and fund research into the causes, nature and care of psoriasis and to publish and disseminate the results of that research

The British Association of Skin Camouflage
Our aim is to help reduce the psychological, physical and social effects that skin conditions and scarring can have on people's lives by the simple application of specialised skin camouflage products. We were founded in 1985, as a direct result of requests to train private as well as NHS personnel and to creat a national support association for professionals through which our principles, skills and new techniques could be shared.

Vitiligo Society
The Vitiligo Society is a well-established UK based charity that began its work in 1984. Run by a small board of trustees, we are dedicated to supporting, campaigning and raising awareness of Vitiligo, which affects 1% of the world’s population.
Over the years, the Society has established a strong reputation for its medical expertise. Funding has been given for research projects with the aim of establishing and understanding the causes of Vitiligo along with finding safe and effective treatments.
